In this article, we will be learning how to quickly re-assign the Q-Links in a program (drum, instrument, key group, clip, MIDI or CV).
On default, when you load a program, the Q-Links will be automatically assigned to a parameter, however if you ever want to change this, you can do this in Q-Link Edit mode:
To enter Q-Link Edit Mode, do any of the following:
- Press Menu, and then tap Q-Link Edit.
- Press Shift+Screen Control/Edit (MPC X), Shift+Sample Edit/Q-Link Edit (MPC One), or Shift+Q-Link (MPC Key 61, MPC Key 37)
- Press and hold one of the five Q-Link buttons above the Q-Link knobs, and then tap Q-Link Edit at the bottom of the window that appears (MPC X).
In the Program tab, the Q-Link knobs control 16 parameters within the currently selected program.
In this example, we have loaded a Sub Factory plugin preset, which will display the following information:
Re-Mapping: Tap the Reset button to clear any of the current parameters assigned to the Q-Links.
Once this has been done, select available parameters in the Parameter menu and manually turn the Q-Link knob and you are all set!
Please refer to Page 320 in the MPC User Guide to learn more about the possiblities in Q-Link Edit mode.
