Configuring Multi-Output Assignments for MPC2 in Cubase

Steps to Configure Multi-Output Assignments for MPC2 in Cubase:

  1. Launch Cubase.

  2. Create an Instrument Track.

    • Assign MPC Software as the instrument.
  3. Navigate to the Track Inspector.

    • Find the track inspector on the left side of the screen.
  4. Enable Output Assignments.

    • In the drop-down menu, select the desired output assignments.
    • A checkmark will appear beside assigned outputs as seen below (all output enabled):
  5. Open the Mixer.

    • Press F3 on your keyboard to bring up the mixer.
  6. Verify Outputs.

    • Ensure individual channels for mixing drum programs and other instrument tracks are visible.
  7. Specify MPC Output channels
  • Click the icon below to launch the plugin in Cubase
  • Click the 'Channel Mixer' in MPC
  • Configure output assignments as desired

Limitations in Cubase:

  • Cubase does not support specifying virtual MIDI inputs for each channel in the instrument track.
  • Hardware-assigned MIDI inputs are required, limiting multi-track MIDI configurations for MPC2.
