"Why Is My MPC Stuck on Looking for Computer?"
This is completely normal. It does not necessarily indicate there is any issue with the device at all. MPCs have two modes; Standalone mode, and Controller mode. When in controller mode, the standalone functionality Is disabled, but the MPC is able to connect to and communicate with the desktop software in a very comprehensive manner.
In order to do this, a few requirements must be met:
- The MPC must be connected to the computer via the included USB 2 or USB 3.0 cable depending on the model.
- The driver for the particular MPC model must be installed.

- The MPC 2 program or plugin must be open on the computer.
Potential reasons your unit is experiencing this issue include:
- Faulty USB Connection - If you are using a USB to USB C adapter, or a USB hub, this could be the source of the issue. Please attempt a direct connection. (Mac users may need a USB B or USB 3.0 B to USB C cable). Also, the USB cable itself could be faulty, attempt with a secondary USB cable.
