MPC expansions are tailored for use in MPC Beats, MPC 2, MPC 3, and standalone MPC devices.
Note: Native Instruments MPC Expansions will function exclusively on MPC 3.
Depending on your operating system, you'll find them in the locations outlined below.
MPC 3 macOS:
Library > Application Support > Akai > MPC 3 > Expansions
MPC 2 MacOS:
Library > Application Support > Akai > MPC > Expansions
To access the library, please open Finder, and then select the 'Go' tab along the top toolbar. Hold the option key to reveal the library in the list of locations.
MPC 3 Windows:
C:\ProgramData\Akai\MPC 3\Expansions
MPC 2 Windows:
C:\ProgramData\Akai\MPC\Expansions
If you are unable to view the Program Data folder within the Windows File Explorer, you will need to enable 'show hidden items'. To do this, please select the 'view' tab in the File Explorer, and tick the box that says 'hidden items' in the show/hide section.
The audio files are organized into MPC format drum and instrument programs, and the raw audio files will be found in the folder labelled "content" in the MPC folder locations above.
