When you tap the New Project button, the MPC takes you to the same screen that appears when you first turn it on. This can sometimes look like the device is restarting, but it’s actually part of the intended process.
This screen is designed to show all available template projects which are often used as starting points. A New Project button is also located in the bottom-left corner for those who would like to start a blank project.
If your MPC behaves as follows, everything is working as expected:
1. Press the Menu button.
2. Tap the New Project button.
3. The MPC lights turn off, and an hourglass appears on the screen.
4. The template selection screen appears, which includes the New Project button.
5. You then choose a template, demo, or start a new blank project.
